ENIGMAN is a visual and very engaging way to learn the basics of cryptography and probability theory. One player creates a code consisting of four colored pegs. His opponent must decode the code in as few attempts as possible. The... 'hacker's' turn involves placing four pegs of any colors on the board. The 'code creator' then evaluates the opponent's attempt using white and black markers. A white marker is placed for each element that matches both in color and position, while a black marker is placed for each element that matches only in color. At the same time, the 'hacker' does not know which of his guesses were correct. If the 'hacker' guesses the code in 12 or fewer attempts, he wins the round; otherwise, the code creator wins. After that, the players switch roles.
