The Meaning of History. The New Middle Ages

Nikolai Alexandrovich Berdyaev (1874 – 1948) – a prominent Russian religious philosopher, who transitioned from Marxism to the philosophy of personality and freedom in the spirit of religious existentialism, exploring human life. In his work "The Meaning of History," Berdyaev attempts to understand the driving motives of the universal historical process and to address the question of what contradictions of existence pave the way for humanity into eternity. The collection also includes the work "The New Middle Ages" with the same concept, according to which Western civilization by the 20th century returns in many of its essential features to the Middle Ages.
