The Cradle of Humanity

The name of Yevgeny Alexandrovich Yelachich (1880-1944) — a Russian naturalist, historian, publicist, and writer, author of popular science and children's books, is known today to a limited number of readers. Meanwhile, his works deserve close examination and have not lost their significance
even in this current era. One of such works is presented to your attention. This is a reissue in modern orthography of the widely known work "The Far North as the Cradle of Humanity," which first appeared in 1910.
The author puts forward and substantiates the hypothesis that in ancient times it was the Far North that was the region from which the settlement of the white race — the ancestors of modern Indo-Europeans — began. Y. Yelachich's work resonates significantly with the work of American scientist W. F. Warren (1833-1929) "Paradise Found - the Cradle of the Human Race at the North Pole" (1885) and with the book by Indian researcher L.B.G. Tilak (1856-1920) "The Arctic Home in the Vedas" (1903).
