The Wizard of the Emerald City

"The Wizard of the Emerald City" was originally conceived by Alexander Melentyevich Volkov as a retelling of Frank Baum's fairy tale "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz". The writer was so captivated by the tale that the retelling became an independent work. For almost a century, boys and girls have been getting to know the story of Ellie, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion. And it's no surprise, for this book is about the most important thing – strong friendship. Beloved characters can be seen on stage and screen.
