"Sea of Sand" is the first expansion for the adventure fantasy game "Destiny," which contains new heroes, items, and, most importantly, three scenarios linked together into one campaign. In addition, the expansion introduces new game mechanics: to traverse the endless sandy expanses, you can join a caravan (but you cannot rob it!), and mazes and dungeons will diversify your long journeys.Attention! This is an expansion. You will need the base version of "Destiny" to play.
About the game
In "Destiny," players take on the role of heroes chosen by fate itself and compete against one another, facing divinely sent trials with honor and valor. The grim world that unfolds during the game is ever-changing. Heroes will face arduous yet honorable feats, for which they will need complete dedication. To help complete these tasks, they must diligently work on their skills and carefully select their equipment – sometimes everything can depend on a simple torch. How to play?
The rules of "Destiny" are not overly complex, as a special app helps navigate the gameplay. It also replaces the lead player or game master – all players can participate in the adventures! The base game has five scenarios: one standalone that can be played first and four that are plot-related and must be played sequentially. At the beginning, players need to choose a scenario and the heroes whose burdens they will bear. Each hero has their own destiny, but revealing it to other players is not allowed: your interests may overlap and contradict each other, there's no need to give opponents an advantage. Players take turns, visiting and exploring locations, interacting with non-player characters, and completing their quests: searching for artifacts, killing monsters, and so on. It's important to keep track of your effort dice and correctly decide whether to gain one guaranteed success or a higher chance of success with more checks. Who won?
The player who first fulfills their destiny wins. When a hero is ready to face the trial, they initiate their finale – and upon its completion, they win. However, another player may trigger their finale later but complete it faster, as they are better prepared. In that case, victory goes to them. The finale can be triggered in a special location by activating an action available only to you.
