Have you played too many expansions? Forgotten what home-cooked porridge smells like? Let us remind you – porridge at home smells like stuffy air, (surprisingly) swamp moss, and the blood of fallen enemies! Huge bags of loot, monster eyes stuffed...
in pockets (they will come in handy for potions!), and endless dungeons populated by rotund abominations! Weapons that slipped from your hands, slipping on the disgusting sticky goo the color of a child's accident or overripe banana, and the proud number 1 on a tumbled die...
In short: are you missing role-playing games? We're right here: we rolled out the most role-playing game. Did you even notice what it's called? "Dungeons & Dungeons" – we haven't come up with anything more telling yet. In general, wake up your munchkins, whoever they are and whatever they represent, put on them a cool helmet and oversized armor, and off you go – looking for jewels in all sorts of suspicious places!About the GameThe game "Munchkin" is a localization of the tabletop card game Munchkin. In Russian, the game, no matter how hard you try, takes on a new sound, but remains just as exciting, dynamic, and maliciously humorous. Role-playing banter under simple, but sometimes intentionally vague rules mocks noble elves, wise wizards, brave warriors, and bushy-footed halflings. Clerics fight undead, thieves stab their opponents in the heat of battle, gigantic Calmadzillas and nasty Face-Suckers strive to poison or steal the heroic lives of your munchkins, all while chilling out without long speeches and numerous diverse dice rolls from D&D, GURPS, and other realm lofts.
So, the board game "Munchkin" is a role-playing game in form and a parody in content. Players' munchkins roam the dungeon, pulling to light the monstrous inhabitants inside and either regret doing so or earn new levels and treasures for their victory. The outcome of each such adventure (battle, in short) depends on what each player is bringing to the fight. For the player, this means their level and bonuses/penalties from gear, class, race, and curses. For the monster, this means their level plus enhancer cards and one-time gear. Where do monsters get their gear? Envious rivals may also join the fight: they can help the monster and weaken you. Therefore, although "Munchkin" can be played with just two people, gather more people for the match: you'll have more curses, enhancers, and potions in hand, which can easily shift the balance of power in battle in any direction, and vigilant envious ones won’t let any of you emerge as solo leaders in the race to the 10th victory level.
When creating it, the tabletop game "Munchkin" was aimed at a youth audience familiar with role-playing games. However, the game "Munchkin" can be played at any age, except for very young ones, where some of Steve Jackson's jokes might seem a bit too salty. But it's a fantasy adventure with masculine/feminine heroes, incredible situations, indescribably creepy unspeakable monsters, and huge treasure troves that anyone with a broad perspective and a healthy sense of humor will enjoy. How to Play?At the beginning of the game, players start as regular people of their gender (yes, yes, there are even gender differences in the game!) at level one. On your turn, you kick down a door, meaning you turn over the top card from the door deck and fulfill the conditions written on the card. If it's a monster card, you're unlucky and will have to fight it. When the player's strength is greater than or equal to the monster's strength, the player wins and can take as many treasure cards as indicated on the monster card. During the fight, other players can help a friend and join the battle with them, or hinder and strengthen the invading enemy in various ways. If a player wins the battle, they gain one level. Throughout the game, players will apply different classes and professions to themselves, change their gender, don various gear, drink suspicious potions, and fight a wide variety of monsters! How to Expand the Deck?
The main feature of the tabletop game "Munchkin" is its diversity. You can encounter all sorts of Munchkin settings, and you can (and even should) mix them together! Learn new martial arts, wear a pirate eye patch, embark on a space journey – your sessions will become more diverse and interesting, and you will meet unexpected monsters along the way, but of course, you will find ways to strike back! So who won?
It's very simple, the winner is the munchkin who first reaches the tenth level by any means necessary. Game duration: from 30 minutesNumber of players: from 3 to 6
