In all supermarkets, there are baskets and carts, but often you prefer to grab more items and carry them all in your hands. Or your pet has plenty of toys, but your loyal dog prefers to chew on his owner’s...
slippers... This is the paradoxes of life, and the board game "Yes, But" invites you to guess how the situation envisioned by the author looks in full.
About the Game
"Yes, But" is a fast and fun card game based on the works of Anton Gudim – an illustrator and author of the well-known comics of the same name. In these short sketches, our modern society is presented through a prism of irony, sarcasm, and, of course, humor.Players will exchange cards with each other, collect "two-picture" comics, for which, in the case of correct matches, victory points will be awarded. The one who collects three such comics before the others is declared the winner? Yes, but only until the next round begins! How to Play?
To not ruin the atmosphere of fun, it is important not to look at the cards before starting the game and, accordingly, not to try to form pairs from them. Even if you really want to. As they say, the less you know – the better you sleep and the more exciting the game is!
Select one of four thematic decks and deal two cards to each player from it. Here, it is essential to remember the main rule of the game: the order of the cards in your hand cannot be changed. Always play the leftmost card from your hand, and place the new one on the right. Well, it can start if everyone is ready. We act quickly: grab the top card from the deck and add it to your hand on the right (you remember this rule, we just discussed it), and place the card on the left face down on the table. At the same time, everyone flips their cards on the table and don’t dawdle – grab the necessary card! When someone believes they have collected a comic with a pair of cards in hand, they can check it. If not, start a new round. Who Won?
If someone thinks they have already gathered a pair of pictures (it can be formed from any cards in hand, not just those that are adjacent), that player places the pictures on the table. To make it more fun, they can explain what happened in the comic and why it’s funny. Let everyone put forth their hypotheses or add to the situation, why not discuss it with everyone, right? But, even if it seems that the situation is guessed correctly, it still needs to be verified. It’s simple – the patterns on the "backs" of the cards must match. And, as we said earlier, whoever collects three correct pairs of cards first becomes the winner and the fastest memo-comic guesser. Game Duration: from 10 minutesNumber of Players: from 2 to 4
