The current edition of "Blinky Bill. Adventures of the Mischievous Koala" includes three books by Australian writer and artist Dorothy Wall (1894–1942) about the adventures of a little marsupial bear. They will appeal to adventure lovers, as well as all... kids interested in the unique flora and fauna of the Green Continent.The first book "Blinky Bill" begins with news spreading through the bush: in the esteemed family of koalas with the surname Bill, a long-awaited baby has been born. He blinked his eyes so amusingly – blink-blink – and looked so surprised that his parents decided to name him Blinky. They choose the sweet Angelina Wallaby as his godmother – she will repeatedly rescue Blinky from the troubles he regularly finds himself in due to his insatiable curiosity. Most koalas are homebodies; for happiness, they need silver eucalyptus with a comfortable forked branch and plenty of tender, juicy leaves. However, the inquisitive Blinky cannot sit still, he often climbs down from his home tree to seek adventures – much to the horror of his mother, the good-natured Mrs. Bill, the annoyance of the grumpy neighbor Aunt Granti, and the envy of the quiet Snubby, her son. During his wanderings, Blinky makes friends, learns to see the beauty of nature, and understand its laws. Gradually, he understands why in the animal world, someone eats someone. But how to explain the reason for cruelty from humans? Neither Blinky, nor his mother, nor their friends and neighbors from the bush know this.In the second book "Blinky Bill Grows Up" Blinky, learning that his mother decided to send him to school, runs away from home for a long time again. After all, the world is so vast, the bush is full of wonders, and Blinky has no intention of rubbing his knickerbockers in Mrs. Magpie's boring school! He ends up at a charity fair for the help of burn-out rabbits. He strays onto Mr. Hmykin's farm and barely escapes. He meets the cheerful Terry Wagtail, the wise Mr. Owl, Brave Bobby the leader of the bulldog ants, the cunning Hilda, and other bush inhabitants. He saves the bunnies from the crafty Belinda Fox, and frees the fox from thorns. In the end, he and his mother are caught by trappers who take them to the zoo.In the third book "Blinky Bill and Natsy" Blinky and his mother escape from the zoo. And they are helped by Splodge – a true gentleman from the noble line of giant kangaroos. They return to their eucalyptus tree, where a little koala named Natsy now lives, and together they open a guesthouse called "Second Home" there.
