The idea of the book is extremely simple: people are designed to be happy. But sometimes each of us goes through a tough time, we give up, and life stops bringing us joy. Is it possible to learn how to reset our system and restore the default settings: the happiness mode?
As an engineer and an employee of a secret division of Google, Mo Gawdat has always been fascinated by the task of "restarting" happiness during moments of emotional decline. His analytical mind broke down the problem of happiness into the tiniest components to create a fact-based model whose effect could be quantitatively measured and repeatedly reproduced. As a software developer, he set out to find a code that could be run over and over again, and each time guarantee a predictable outcome — happiness.
After losing his dearly beloved son Ali, who was only twenty, Mo tested this system in his own experience — and it lived up to expectations. With the algorithm from “The Happiness Formula,” you will be able to do the same — and enjoy life, no matter what challenges it throws at you.
An insightful personal story intertwined with a deep analysis of what each of us seeks — an analysis that can serve as a basis for our actions. Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google
