The poem "Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata" is a true masterpiece of religious thought and world literature. It tells the story of the life and teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the preacher of pure love for God, who brought about a true revolution in the spiritual life of India. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is revered by his followers as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
The author of the poem, Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur, was a contemporary of Sri Chaitanya and a disciple of his closest associate Nityananda Prabhu.
