The Story of the Missing Child

The concluding part of the Neapolitan quartet returns Lena and Lila to their hometown - with its dirt, ignorance, and cruelty. Elena leaves Florence with Nino Sarratore in hopes that he will leave his family for her. Lila and Enzo open a computer company. Gradually, Lila becomes the unofficial leader of the neighborhood - much to the chagrin of the Solara brothers, who are reluctant to relinquish power. The once bitter friends enter adulthood. Rivalry is in the past; now Lila and Lena know who they are to each other and do not attempt to change that. Life places everything in its proper place - but some questions remain unanswered.
