The Invisible Universe. Dark Secrets of the Cosmos

Behind the powerful visible universe that envelops us at night lies something else, far more impressive. Most astronomers today believe that ninety-five percent of the universe's contents are invisible.
Everything we observe in our daily lives and in beautiful images from the Hubble Telescope likely accounts for only five percent of what is hidden in space. The rest—dark matter and energy—represents that part of reality that we have only just begun to understand. So what do these dark invisible substances represent? And how can we be so certain of their existence?
This book takes us on a journey through the universe, beyond the Solar System and our home Milky Way.
