Limericks

Edward Lear gained worldwide fame for his verses filled with unparalleled absurdity, accompanied by illustrations for children — although he himself considered them merely a joke, nonsense. One of his first books was titled: "The Book of Nonsense." Poet and... translator Grigory Mikhailovich Krzhizhanovsky added even more mischief, playfulness, and charming eccentricity to Lear's limericks.
