This interesting book provides the reader with much information about reindeer and the nature of the tundra, where the "all-terrain animal" lives, without which life for the peoples of the Russian North is unimaginable. The author vividly and thoroughly tells about what reindeer eat, how they are herded, how fawns grow, who helps the herders, what reindeer teams are, and what significance reindeer antlers have. A separate chapter is dedicated to the events of the war, when the "reindeer parachute" on the Rybachy Peninsula helped overcome the German fascist invaders.
