Christmas is around the corner, and Mr. Willowby orders a tree for the holiday. But there’s one problem: the tree is too big and doesn’t fit in the living room! But the tree can be shortened a bit! Thus begins... the true adventure of the tree top, passing from hand to hand, and then from paw to paw, bringing joy to all the animals in the forest, big and small, filling the atmosphere with Christmas spirit.

This is a classic of children’s literature, first published in 1963, and has been loved by several generations of children and adults for over 50 years. In 1995, a Christmas show based on the book was filmed featuring Robert Downey Jr., Stockard Channing, Leslie Nielsen, and... Kermit the Frog from The Muppet Show as the narrator. This is the first publication of the book in Russian in a brilliant poetic translation by Yulia Simbirskaya.
