The publication consists of two parts: the book "Magnetism and Hypnotism" (St. Petersburg, 1896) by Polish publicist, poet, and naturalist Julian Ochorowicz (1850–1917) and the fundamental work "Mysterious Phenomena of the Human Psyche" (Moscow, 1914) by British physicist and researcher of paranormal phenomena William Fletcher Barrett (1844–1925).
