Swami Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) was sent to America by his Teacher with the following advice: "The material achievements of the West are very high, but it lacks spiritual understanding and deep meditation, which brings True Salvation. According to the will of the Almighty Creator, your mission is to help humanity understand how important it is to have a balance between the external, material, and internal, spiritual sides of life." At the age of 27, Yogananda arrived in the USA, where he lived until the end of his life, introducing hundreds of thousands of people to the teachings of Kriya Yoga. Today, Swami Yogananda has many followers around the world. Millions of people are changing their way of life by following the example of the Great Teacher. By observing how outstanding people solve life’s problems, we learn from them and are inspired by their example. They teach us how we should awaken, rise, and dedicate our time to concentration, meditation, and contemplation in order to discover the essence of Truth.
