The wonderful Russian writer Mikhail Mikhailovich Prishvin was in love with nature. He admired its grandeur and beauty, studied the habits of forest creatures, and could captivatingly and very kindly tell about it. His short stories, written in a simple and understandable language, are addressed to "the child that lives within us from early childhood to old age." They will reveal the mysteries of nature to young readers, teach them to love their native land and understand its beauty, and to relate to the surrounding world thoughtfully and attentively, to be kind and responsive.
