But one day, this law of nature was broken, and right before the New Year, snowdrops suddenly bloomed... “I wrote the play ‘Twelve... Months’ during the war, in its darkest days,” said S. Marshak. It was written in 1942-1943 for the Moscow Art Theater, and the plot is based on a West Slavic legend. A beloved fairy tale-play ‘Twelve Months’ about a kind-hearted girl who met twelve brothers-months in the forest still graces the stages of theaters across the country, and there is also an animated film based on it.
