Children with Hearing Impairments in Inclusive Settings

The manual briefly discusses hearing impairments, the characteristics of perception and speech development in children with varying degrees of hearing loss, and modern rehabilitation methods for children with hearing impairments. It describes the devices of hearing aids and cochlear implants, FM systems, features of auditory-verbal perception, and speech development in hard-of-hearing and deaf children using modern hearing aids. The conditions favorable for the education and upbringing of children with hearing aids and cochlear implants are considered. Recommendations for educators on organizing the necessary conditions for the education and upbringing of such children in preschool and school general education institutions are presented.
