The Kind Mistress

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who had a rooster. The girl was a kind mistress, but one day she exchanged the rooster for a hen.  

The girl also loved the hen, fed it, and petted it – until she saw a duck. She also exchanged the duck – for a puppy.  

But the puppy did not want to be friends with the girl, who did not know how to make friends herself. And he ran away.
