Once the Rotten Lands were called the Valley of the Happy Springs. People flowed into the valley from all sides in search of healing, until the gods imprisoned a cursed spirit in the mountains surrounding it.

Two girls enter the Cave of Silence. One is a victim, chosen by an ancient custom. The other is sneaking in, driven by the desire to save her parents from a deadly illness.
