Golden Veins

The basis of the novel is events that took place in the 1930s in the Urals and Belarus. 

Collectivization, dekulakization, mechanization of collective farms, industrialization, the rise of gold mining in the Urals, sabotage and repression - a whirlwind of events twists the fates of the characters in such a way that they are compelled to reflect on the significance of the great changes for the country. Five families, with varying attitudes towards Soviet power, experience their love for the native land anew, to which they are rooted much more deeply than they thought.

A Cossack uprising that erupted in one of the villages of the Urals leads to severe consequences for the main characters and raises many questions: where did the instigators of the uprising come from and for what purpose? how did they manage to evade punishment and disappear from the records in the investigation materials? The main characters, Agafya Ermolina and Semyon Novikov, face a difficult choice: sincere and all-consuming love or duty. What will they choose and is it possible to reverse the decision?..
