Sjón (b. 1962) is an Icelandic poet, prose writer, playwright, screenwriter, and translator. He is the author of ten novels and thirteen poetry collections. He is a laureate of the Nordic Council Literature Prize (2005), the Icelandic Literature Prize (2013), and a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of France (2021). He is known as a songwriter for Björk and was nominated for an Oscar (2001) as a co-writer of her song for the film "Dancer in the Dark." His book "Skugga-Baldur" (2022) has been published in Russian.
