Incredible Journey

An old bull terrier, a young Labrador and a Siamese cat leave their sheltered home and set out on a journey full of deadly dangers. Overcoming hunger, escaping wild predators, crossing rivers and getting food on their own, these domesticated animals persistently walk through the remote and sparsely populated areas of Canada towards a goal that only they know about. Four-legged friends will more than once find themselves on the verge of death, but they will move on, and they will be led by instinct, mutual assistance and love for their owners.

Sheila Barnford was born on May 11, 1918 in Scotland. In 1951, she and her husband immigrated to Canada. They had three children and three beloved pets. These animals inspired Sheila to write “The Incredible Journey,” which was published in 1961. Two years later, Walt Disney adapted the book into a film, and it has since become a beloved bestseller.
