Learning Psalter in Church Slavonic with a Parallel Translation into Russian

The Church Slavonic language, created by the holy equal-to-the-apostles Cyril and Methodius, is the language of our communication with God in prayers. Initially, the Russian people prayed to God and generally learned literacy specifically through the Church Slavonic Psalter. However,... far from all words, phrases, and texts are understandable for the modern person, and our modern language, in which we communicate with each other, has significantly distanced itself from its Church Slavonic original. Therefore, P. Yungrov undertook a new accurate translation of the Psalter into Russian in the early 20th century - with the aim of bringing the translation of the Greek Psalter as close as possible to the Slavonic tradition and making it understandable for readers, including those who are holding the Psalter for the first time. This translation is what we offer to the attention of readers.
