Chinese language as the main training material for learning listening, as well as for preparation for the HSK exam. The listening materials are presented as authentic modern texts of various genres in standard Chinese language «baihua wen» from various Chinese sources and the book by I. V. Kocherin «Reader for Chinese Language» published in 2004. The texts are voiced by male and female voices with emphasis on absolute phonetic accuracy. Each text is accompanied by a list of unfamiliar vocabulary and questions for self-control and discussion. Individual lexical units in the texts are accompanied by a footnote with a lexical comment, in which lexical units, representing the most frequent function words, some of which fall under so-called wenyanisms, counting words, and words and phrases that have stable circulation in conversational speech, are commented on from the perspective of meaning, function, and usage. The structure of the book makes it universal for use. Depending on specific methodological goals, the teacher can offer students texts of approximately the same level of complexity, but of different themes (from different sections) or can choose individual texts that best match the target settings, age, and interests of the students, from one or several thematic sections.
