This is a book about the adventures of an ordinary boy, Yun, in a world where miracles happen literally at every step. It all starts with the fact that an ordinary old lady turns out to be a witch, and... drawings made with simple chalk suddenly come to life. Yun and his painted friend Sophus are the most famous characters of the Norwegian storyteller Sinken Hopp. They are familiar to both modern children and their parents, because the book was first published 70 years ago and has since been republished in different languages. The cheerful absurdity of the adventures of Yun and Sofus is perfectly matched by the illustrations of Radna Sakhaltuev, an artist and animator known for his work on the cartoons “The Adventures of Captain Vrungel” and “Treasure Island”. Dynamic, funny, hooligan drawings draw the reader into a motley cycle of unexpected miracles and magical transformations.
