By comparing the number of segments into which the puzzle strips and circles are divided, with the numerical values depicted on them, the child will be able to understand what a fraction is and how it is formed. How to play?You need to correctly assemble all the pieces on the game board so that the fractions in all depressions sum up to a whole number 1.
The puzzle visually demonstrates the formation of fractions using rectangular and circular pieces as examples. The rectangular piece with the whole number 1 occupies the entire row and is fundamental. The other rows are divided into 2, 3, or 4 parts, represented by pieces with specific fractional values.The circular piece is also presented in its whole form and divided into 2, 3, and 4 parts.
The pieces are conveniently removed from the puzzle frame thanks to special grooves for little fingers – semicircular indentations in the frame.
The game is made of 7 mm thick birch plywood. The pieces are carefully sanded and have rounded corners to avoid splinters and other injuries during play. The numbers are printed on the surface of the plywood using direct printing technique, which allows the images to retain brightness longer.
The wooden puzzle "Part and Whole" forms initial mental arithmetic skills, understanding of the concepts of "fraction", "whole", and "part", and also develops logical thinking and fine motor skills.
