Around the Closed Circle

The book of the classic Soviet spy novel by Viktor Semyonovich Mikhailov includes his last two stories — "The Little Elephant of Jade" and "Around the Closed Circle" (1972). There is a hunt for Helmut Merling (also Charles Coughlin, also... Juan Mario Altemirano, also J. O'Sullivan) throughout the whole Union — an agent of multiple intelligence services, pursuing a single goal — to cause as much harm as possible to the Soviet Union. There are chases ahead, disguises, gunshots from around the corner... The book, unnoticed by contemporaries, finally returns to the reader.
