The Guide, or Five Cedar Nuts

A long time ago, when there were knights and princesses, battles for kingdoms and power, when honor and courage were valued above all, these events took place... Two little princesses, Legrana and Iris, escape from the cruel Duke Kronberg, who wishes to capture them for the purpose of exchanging them for the kingdom of Legrana's father - the mighty Berengar. They are aided by a simple boy named Tim, who lives with his grandfather in a small house by the bend of the river. And who knows if he would manage to lead the girls to the castle through the dense forest, the raging river, and the mountains if it weren't for the old man’s long-ago rescue of a giant grizzly bear, who gifted the old man five cedar nuts... Magical tales show a child how fascinating modern prose can be and how to read with curiosity. An interesting book, particularly stories with pictures, is a good gift for a child.
