Sergey Ernestovich Polyakov is a renowned psychologist and psychiatrist, candidate of medical sciences, author of many scientific works, including three monographs on general psychology.

In his fourth book, S. E. Polyakov presented the reader with an expected but still unfamiliar perspective on the psychophysical nature of the surrounding world. Many outstanding researchers since Antiquity have been attracted to the mental component of reality, which they tried to discuss in different contexts, using incompatible concepts.

S.E. Polyakov managed to isolate and describe it, delineate its boundaries and differentiate it from other forms of reality, unveil the nature, character, and structure of the entities forming it, demonstrate the phenomenological features and dynamics of the mental phenomena representing them. He called it objective mental reality and convincingly proved that a person lives not only in a physical but also in a mental world created by society. This world, like physical reality, stands in opposition to the individual and is independent of them. It even has its own numerous objects that exist and act only within it.

The author has discovered a new facet of reality and created a new field of science, making the book interesting not only for psychologists, sociologists, and philosophers but also for representatives of other disciplines, including natural sciences.
