In Search of a Good Place. How Systemic Constellations Work

No other method has sparked such heated debate in the professional community and achieved such widespread use in the everyday practice of psychotherapists as constellation work. Despite its relative youth, it is currently represented — depending on the profile and main focus of those who apply it — in an almost infinite variety of directions and forms. After a brief historical overview of the development of the method, Diana Drexler presents the "pillars" of systemic constellations: systemic theory and phenomenological position, generational perspective, and resource orientation. 
Based on examples in the book, frequently observed systemic dynamics are presented, and the characteristic features of constellation work are explained through a group seminar. In addition, the author does not overlook the poetry of constellation work and, with remarkable clarity, welcomes serious criticism directed at constellations. Equally soberly, she draws a line between unrealistic, enthusiastic claims of some supporters of the method and genuine, life-changing experiences whose effects endure over time.
