That same year, the famous... children's writer, doctor, and educator, founder of the legendary Orphanage, along with his charges (about 200 children), would perish in the concentration camp in Treblinka. In 1942, Janusz Korczak turned sixty-four years old; he was widely known for his original views on the principles of child education, which he actively and successfully implemented. The foundation of his pedagogical system was a very simple idea: a child is a full-fledged person, entitled to their own views and their own relationship with the surrounding world.
