Anya here and there

Little Anya’s life flows smoothly and happily. In the summer - in the village, with blueberry meadows, tall pine trees and a warm lake. And in winter in Moscow, with the Tretyakov Gallery and gifts from Children's World. But one... day this life ends. Now Anya lives in New York. While her parents are studying at the university, she goes to an American school, eats sandwiches with jam instead of soup, looks for new friends and gets used to walking without a hat on the street. Maria Danilova’s story “Anya Here and There” was included in the final of the Krapivin Children’s Literary Prize in 2020. This is a story about growing up between two cultures, about how important it is, no matter where you are, to know that you can always return home.
