Tolik Ryzhikov is an ordinary schoolboy. A little lazy, a little boastful, and sometimes he also likes to lie. The main characters of the stories "Carousels over the City" and "A, B, C, D, D and Others...", physics teacher Alexei Palych and his assistant Bori, had something no less amazing happen - an alien suddenly settled in their laboratory! A guest from outer space arrived on Earth with an important mission - to learn how people experience emotions. However, the alien must under no circumstances reveal himself to anyone other than his new friends. But in a small town, where out of every three two know each other, it will be oh so difficult for Alexey Palych and Borka to keep a secret the visit of an envoy from a distant planet!
In 1971, based on the story “A Wizard Walked Through the City,” the film “The Secret of the Iron Door” was released, directed by Mikhail Yuzovsky. And the plot of the story “Carousel Over the City” formed the basis for another film, “Summer Impressions of Planet Z.”
