Two Days" and others. "Once in Soviet cinemas, before the start of the film, a newsreel was shown. News of the country, reports from the fields, labor and creative achievements. Soviet cinemas no longer exist. But I myself am from a Soviet childhood. So traditionally, I precede the screening of my films with a newsreel. More precisely, these are not yet films. These are – scripts. But without scripts, there would be no films. When I am gathering a class of screenwriters at VGIK, I tell students this tale on the first lesson. A film archive, two mice are gnawing at a film reel. And one mouse says to the other: "But the script was tastier!" Fifty films have been made based on my scripts.
