The Gates of Monsters

This story began with a tiny bundle, a dark forest, a kind priest, and a monstrosity. A baby left to be disposed of turned out to be six-fingered, and this meant only one thing: before the priest was a future... witch, a malefica, whose abilities are so dangerous that they will inevitably lead the gifted to madness. It is just a matter of time. Such children belong in the maleficorium, where they are trained, taught control, and turned into weapons of the Church. And so Chonsa grew up. Behind her is a war fought, years of imprisonment awaiting execution, hundreds of completed assignments, and two valiant warriors ready to take her life at the first signs of madness. Chonsa dreams of one thing: to escape and taste freedom. And ancient prophecies come together in a picture full of possibilities, for when the Heavens themselves collapse and monsters besiege the land, everyone reveals their true nature.
