Secret to the Whole World. Denis's Stories

Deniska Korablyov is an ordinary boy. He goes to school, is lazy about doing his homework, and argues with his mom over trivial matters. Like any boy his age, he doesn’t like to be bored. So every day he makes up something new: sometimes he pours uneatable porridge out the window, and sometimes he trades an expensive toy dump truck for a small firefly in a matchbox. This is how the writer Viktor Dragunsky created Deniska, whose cheerful stories have raised more than one generation of young readers.
However, not everyone is familiar with another Dragunsky, a little sad and serious. Dragunsky, who was not taken to the front as a teenager due to asthma, but in whom love for the Motherland and the desire to help his compatriots were so strong that he went to join the militia. The memories of that time formed the basis of the autobiographical novella "He Fell on the Grass..." which is also included in this collection.
The characters of Viktor Dragunsky were brought to life by the master of book graphics, Evgeny Medvedev. In 2014, he became a laureate of the President's Prize in the field of literature and art for children and youth. The cycle "Denis's Stories" is published for the first time with a complete set of illustrations by the famous artist.
