In Bob's Universe, a civil war is raging.
Over a hundred years ago, Bender set off to the distant stars and disappeared without a trace. Now Bob, ignoring the difficulties, is organizing an expedition to find out Bender's fate.
But in Bob's Universe, problems never have easy solutions. Twenty generations of clones have emerged, and as a result of the so-called replicative drift, they have become quite different from the original prototype. Some support Bob's plan, others openly oppose it, while some are developing their own strategies. A crisis is inevitable.
Not losing hope, Bob and his allies are on Bender's trail. However, instead of a companion, they discover something in the deep cosmos that could either save the Universe or create a deadly threat to all living beings (and beyond) that Bob's Universe has never encountered before.
