The book features tales by the famous English writer, Nobel Prize laureate in literature, traveler, and journalist Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936). He never considered himself a children's author, but he gained fame for his stories about the boy Mowgli and... the famous Just So Stories — tales known to us in various translations and under different titles.
As is often the case, Kipling wrote these stories specifically for his children, who were his first listeners and critics. In the amusing tales of curiosity, English humor and folklore from distant lands are combined. They echo ancient myths and legends that people told each other at the dawn of civilization.
The tales are presented in the translation by Lyubov Borisovna Khavkina, a theorist and organizer of library affairs in Russia, a person in love with books and who dedicated her whole life to them.
