The second book in the series "A World Without Princes" continues the story of two girls, Sophie and Agatha. They are still friends and very popular in their hometown of Gavaldon, as they are the only ones who managed to... return from the Endless Woods in 200 years. However, Sophie is utterly overwhelmed by her father's upcoming wedding, which she believes would dishonor the memory of her deceased mother. Meanwhile, Agatha's soul is restless, as she suspects that she has not made the right choice. Longings and desires are fateful – they once again open the invisible gates to the world of fantasy.
Although the School Master is dead, dramatic changes are happening at the School for Good and Evil. Now there are no eternal bliss or neverbeens on the opposing sides – boys and girls have become enemies! Therefore, the friends reluctantly have to return to school, of course, the girls' castle, where some mysterious being reigns, which readers did not encounter in the first school year. Her intentions are as strange as her actions and behavior. And, as often happens in fantasy literature, there is not much time left to resolve the escalating conflicts.
At the end of the book, there are three chapters included that were originally intended for the first novel, but were removed due to volume. The author loves them so much that he wanted readers not to miss them.
