Bram Stoker (1847 – 1912) was one of the brightest Irish writers of his time and is considered an important figure in the theatre life of 19th century Ireland. His novel "Dracula" revived the myths and legends about vampires; this work has served as a guide to the mysterious and alluring world of vampires for more than a century, it has been translated into many languages and adapted into films. Bram Stoker's "Dracula" is still regarded as one of the most masterful works of gothic and horror literature even after more than a hundred years. The novel "Dracula" begins with the journey of a young lawyer, Jonathan Harker, from bourgeois England to the foggy and brightly moonlit Transylvania – the home of Count Dracula. The lawyer is on a business trip to assist Count Dracula in real estate matters. The young man is still unaware that the mysterious and charming count, with his good manners and beautiful voice, will make him a prisoner in a castle where what is happening will reveal to Jonathan Harker a new world, frightening and dark, yet alluring. However, soon the young man will understand: to survive, he must flee from the castle that holds centuries-old secrets, flee from the all-seeing and all-hearing, and ever-present Count Dracula.
