The first impressions of Holland and its people have been gained by countless generations of children and adolescents in many countries around the world and also in Latvia often from the book "Silver Skates." And readers' amazement is great when... they learn that the author of this wonderful story is an American, not a Dutch woman. The author is Mary Mapes Dodge, whose worldwide fame was brought by this book written in 1865.
The book will give the opportunity to read the entire story, including those paragraphs and pages that were omitted in previous Latvian editions.
