This is a novel about how the unattainable becomes attainable, the impossible happens, and the unreal and otherworldly takes on flesh and blood. An angelic guardian named Vovka — a bold, stubborn, mischievous 12-year-old boy — appears to 29-year-old Ivan... and resolves all his troubles. But how can one ensure that this familiar boy, with his angelic protections and completely unangelic character, does not return to that other world from which he came? Perhaps through the fulfillment of a wish made while observing the transit of Venus across the sun's disc?
