The novella Favorite Street is the second part of a duology; the first part is called Family Happiness by the famous writer, journalist, and educator Frida Vigdorova (1915-1965). The action of the novella takes place from September 1, 1944, to... June 1954. Its heroes have changed - the experience of war, separation, and loss has made them more mature, thoughtful, and at the same time kinder and stronger. Through the eyes of the main characters - nurse Sasha, through whom the sadly famous Doctors' Plot inevitably passes, and serious, honest journalist Polivanov - we see what is happening not only in the family but also in the country: in the hospital, in the school, in the newspaper, in the village. Like Family Happiness, Favorite Street is a novella about decent people, about a difficult life, and about human relationships.
