Through the eyes of the main characters - nurse Sasha, through whom the sadly famous Doctors' Plot inevitably passes, and serious, honest journalist Polivanov - we see what is happening not only in the family but also in the country: in the hospital, in the school, in the newspaper, in the village. Like Family Happiness, Favorite Street is a novella about decent people, about a difficult life, and about human relationships.
