Java Enterprise Modernization: Cloud Technologies for Developers

In discussions about technologies, containers, microservices, and distributed systems are constantly mentioned; however, most applications still operate on monolithic architectures based on traditional development processes. Let's take a closer look at well-established Java-based models and figure out how to move these monolithic applications into the future. Drawing on years of application modernization experience, Markus Eisele and Natale Vinto show what needs to be done to update Java applications, how to break apart monolithic applications, and transition to a modern software stack that works both in the cloud and in local environments.
