Two Ladies and Orange Jam

The Kingdom of Britwald is steeped in traditions. Tea and cucumber sandwiches, legal corporations and the royal navy, horse racing and hats, orange jam that is exclusively called marmalade and eaten at breakfast… When the widowed Countess Thornfield discovered that... she was served a completely different marmalade for breakfast than she was used to, she was surprised. And when she found out that the woman who made this very dish had suddenly and mysteriously vanished, the lady realized that she would die if she did not find out what was going on. Polina Razumova, nicknamed Miss Mind, inadvertently became involved in this story: she arrived in Lundenvik for a conference on mathematical methods for spell creation and found that her friend had disappeared without a trace. According to all the traditions of life and adventure, could these ladies not meet?
