Following a detailed study of the fashion era of the USSR, fashion historian Megan Virtanen returns with a new book about beauty, complementing the picture of life from the bygone era.
Soviet people did not always strive to follow trends, but many wished to be a handsome physical culture worker or a beautiful sportswoman from the Komsomol. The book includes historical facts, unique statistics, and curious cases that made up SOVIET BEAUTY.

Megan Alexandrovna Virtanen – fashion historian, cultural scientist, collector.
She speaks at many educational venues in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and other cities. She collaborates with both state museums and educational institutions, as well as private lecture halls and business organizations.
She taught the history of costume at the Faculty of Arts at St. Petersburg State University. She worked as a consultant on civil historical costumes for several film projects. She was a regular columnist for Sobaka.ru and RIA Novosti, and also published in "Ogonyok", Harper's Bazaar, and a number of other publications.
